Encapsulated wound electrical capacitor - has integral current cut-out responding to unacceptable pressure increase within capacitor housing

The capacitor has the cut-out device (II,V) with a rupture point responding to an unacceptable pressure increase within the capacitor housing (2) to separate the capacitor from the current source. The cut-out device (II,V) comprises a fixing plate attached to the adjacent end contact face of the capacitor and a cooperating support pin fitting through the fixing plate which is released upon the fixing plate abutting a stop edge. Pref. the rupture points are defined by slots stamped out of the surface of the fixing plate around the support pin. ADVANTAGE - Provides cut-out before explosion of capacitor housing.
