The invention relates to a device for obtaining heat energy from organic fuels such as sawing chips, chopping chips, packaging material or like waste, with an external housing, in which a combustion installation working according to the pyrolysis method, with heating boiler and with forced fuel refilling device, is arranged, the forced fuel refilling device being assigned to the end of a fuel feed shaft running out of the external housing. The aim of the invention is to develop a device of the generic type mentioned in the introduction to the effect that an unsupervised automatic operation is possible over relatively long periods of time, for example for a work shift. This aim is achieved according to the invention by a fuel bunker being arranged on the external housing, the lower extraction opening of which coincides with the feed opening of the feed shaft.
