Pile foundations are demanding structures and are usually exposed to aggressive influences. The quality assurance and resistance against chemical attacks is therefore especially important. The construction from precast parts of annular cross-section, the placing by means of suction flushing, the design of the joints and of the pile foot as well as the axial prestressing and the completion to the full cross-section constitute a concept which can also cope with difficult tasks and requires no additional corrosion-protection measures. The screwed connection is only used for assembly for transport and serves to secure the joints during placing. As material, a metal can be chosen which according to the electromotive series for metals has a higher negative potential than the pile reinforcement and may be destroyed by corrosion, in which case the bearing capacity of the pile cannot be impaired. The prestressing is selected in such a way that tensile stresses are bridged and the absence of cracks in the piles is ensured.
