SO2 production for the simultaneous scrubbing of SO2 and NOx in simultaneous scrubbing units downstream of flue gas desulphurization units

A process for SO2 enrichment for the simultaneous scrubbing of SO2 and NOx from flue gases. It is known, that in particular in slag-tap-fired boilers, the ratio SO2 to NOx is sometimes unfavourable in such a way that a useful action for separating out NOx is not ensured. For this reason it is known to add pyrosulphite to the scrubbing liquid. In order to avoid this, according to the invention it is proposed that the gypsum obtained from the flue gas desulphurization process is admixed, thoroughly mixed and distributed, to the coal to be burnt and is added above the burner in the combustion process chamber for SO2 release.
