An episcleral filling for the treatment of retinal detachment comprises an inflatable main body, to or from which a fluid can be supplied or removed via a tube. The novel, innovative feature resides in the fact that the main body is divided up into a number of separately inflatable chambers. This allows, inter alia, accurate positioning of the filling on the eye to be less critical and to be used even for retinal detachments over large areas or at several sites.
