IMPROVEMENTS IN DEVICES FOR RECOVERING CALORIES FROM SMOKE COMING FROM GAS BOILERS

The equipment recovers some of the residual heat in the exhaust gases (F) of a gas boiler, after going through a main vertical heat exchanger (2). It has an auxiliary exchanger (5) fitted so that the exhaust gases pass through it. The auxiliary exchanger is made fairly flat and thin, offering little resistance to the gases. It consists of a serpentine (6) of pipes with the straight parallel loops stayed by parallel plates (7) which form webs. The structure for the two exchangers is identical. Upstream and downstream shields (8,9) direct the gases to the auxiliary exchanger.
