Hollow-charge head intended for piercing armour protected by active pre-armour

The invention makes it possible to pierce, without initiating it, the active pre-armour with which military vehicles, such as assault tanks, are equipped. The head is composed mainly of a main hollow charge 22 placed inside a body 20 and primed by a detonator 24. A precharge 26 emitting a projectile is provided in front of the main charge, in order to nullify the effects of the active armour. This precharge comprises means for attenuating the impact effect of the projectile on the active pre-armour, in order to pierce the latter without initiating it. These means consist either of a single plastic covering 30 or of a metal plate covered with plastic or of a small hollow charge likewise covered with a plastic or with sintered metal.
