THE INVENTION CONCERNS DNA SEQUENCES OF ARCHAEBACTERIA CAPABLE OF ENCODING PROTEINS HOMOLOGATED TO V-MYC AND THE CORRESPONDING PROTEINS OBTAINED FROM SOLUBLE EXTRACTS OF ARCHAEBACTERIA. THESE PROTEINS ARE USED FOR THE PREPARATION OF SPECIFIC ANTIBODIES USED IN PARTICULAR FOR THE IN VITRO DETECTION OF THE PRESENCE OF PROTEINS ENCODED BY MYC FAMILY ONCOGENS.
