The present invention relates to a full face tunnel-digging machine, working in a continuous manner, which comprises a frame 10 carrying retractable tools 7 moving in a sweeping motion, characterised in that it further comprises an annular structure 9 supporting a protective shield 4 and the external casing of which is substantially complementary to the cross-section of the tunnel, as well as connection means making it possible to connect the annular structure 9 to the frame in a detachable manner, so that, during the drilling operations, the annular structure 9 and the protective shield 4 form an integral part of the frame 10 of the tunnel-digging machine, while allowing, between two drilling operations, the separation of the annular structure 9 and of the frame 10, and consequently the withdrawal of the frame, thereby leaving the annular structure and the protective shield in position.
