The invention relates to a method of concentrating a surfactant in an aqueous solution. BR/ The process consists in adding to solution 1 a component incompatible with the surfactant, for example a water-soluble polymer 2, so as to move the surfactant of the aqueous phase of the solution. The component remains in the aqueous phase and the surfactant goes into a surfactant-rich phase. This phase can then be separated from the aqueous phase by conventional separation devices or techniques. BR/ This method is particularly applicable to the concentration of a surfactant recovered from a deposit as a result of an improved process for recovering oil using this surfactant.
