Improvements of forestry plantations and the like by using potassic clays enriched in fertilising elements

The invention relates to containers and to agricultural methods making efficient use of the properties of clays which are that of retaining water and solutions of artificial fertilisers and that of containing in abundance fertilising elements which cannot be leached such as potassium, sulphur, phosphorous, calcium, magnesium, manganese. Containers which are entirely degradable, are formed by potassic clays (illites) and the like, and are pressed onto a straw trellis, are suggested for cultivating annual plants. A cylindrical container higher than 1 m, formed in thin iron sheet metal and filled with arable earth and marl blocks, is described for fruit farming. The dusting of young trees with powders of clays which are rich in mica and sulphides, the latter being capable of reducing toxic ozone, is envisaged for the fight against the decline of forests.
