FUEL ADDITIVE SUPPLYING DEVICE FOR REGENERATING DIESEL EMISSION CONTROL DEVICE

PURPOSE:To reduce the cost and improve the accuracy of supply, by utilizing a discharge pressure of a vacuum pump located as an accessory of a Diesel engine to pressurize an additive, and automatically adjusting a supply amount of the additive by a pressure regulating valve according to an altitude of district where a vehicle is travelled. CONSTITUTION:A discharge side 60 of a vacuum pump 38 located as an accessory of an engine 10 is connected through a pipe 62 to an additive tank 52. The additive tank 52 is communicated with an air bleed valve 68 and a pressure regulating valve 70. When pressure in the additive tank 52 becomes less than a predetermined value, the air bleed valve 68 is opened to supply bleed air to a suction side of the vacuum pump 38. Accordingly, a discharge pressure generating at the discharge side 60 of the pump 38 is applied through the pipe 62 to the additive tank 52 to thereby pressurize an additive 54. At this time, when an altitude of district where a vehicle is travelled increases, and the atmospheric pressure decreases, a valve opening pressure of the pressure regulating valve 70 is reduced to thereby reduce an amount of the additive 54 to be injected from an injection valve 56.
