PURPOSE:To prevent variance of the characteristic, by performing position switching seletively between the first position where the magnetic head is linked to the fitst sound recording track of the magnetic tape and the second position where the magnetic head is linked to the second sound recording track of the magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:For linking magnetic head 3 to the first sound recording track from the state where magnetic head 3 is not linked to magnetic tape 12, electromagnetic solenoid 13 is inactivated, and subchassis 2 is slided by driving means 11 to move magnetic head 3 toward magnetic tape 12 in parallel with chassis 1. For sound recording and reproducing to the second recording track, electromagnetic solenoid 13 is activated, and guide end part 17 of pivotal moving material 15 is protruded to the oblique direction from subchassis 2. Magnetic head 3 moves along guide end part 17 and is linked to the second sound recording track. Thus, the composite magnetic head is needless, and variance of the characteristis is prevented, and since the magnetic head itself is not displaced directly by the electromagnetic solenoid and so on, the magnetic head is switched rationally with a simple constitution.
