PURPOSE:To reduce the cost by using an impulse voltage generator and by constructing same so that an output waveform thereof is adjusted by means of constant voltage elements, capacitors and the like. CONSTITUTION:When a sphere gap G of an impulse voltage generator IC discharges electricity, a voltage VA at a point A rises. When the voltage VA rises up to a discharge voltage value of a constant voltage element Zn0, the element Zn0 turns ON and charging of a capacitor C3 is started. Therefore a voltage VB at a point B is delayed for a prescribed time in rising. When a voltage difference between the voltages VA and VB turns to be below the discharge voltage of the element Zn0, subsequently, the element Zn0 turns OFF and charging of the capacitor C3 is stopped. Then, when the output voltage of the generator IG lowers below the voltage VA due to a discharge of a capacitor C1, an electric charge of a capacitor C2 is discharged through a resistor R2 for discharge, and when the voltage different from the voltage VB exceeds the discharge voltage of the element Zn0, the element Zn0 turns ON. Therefore a charge of the capacitor C3 is discharged, and when the voltage VB lowers below the discharge voltage value of the element Zn0, the element Zn0 turns OFF. Accordingly, a recovery voltage waveform can be simulated by selecting a circuit constant of the generator IG, the discharge voltage value of the element Zn0, and constants of resistors R2, R3, the capacitors C2, C3, etc.
