DISCARDING DEVICE FOR END SHEET IN CONTINUOUS STEEL STRIP DISCARDING FACILITY

PURPOSE:To reduce the discarding time for an end sheet by installing two shears separated by a distance corresponding to a discarding length of the end sheet in series in the strip passing direction. CONSTITUTION:As for discarding an end sheet 2 at the rear end of the preceding coil, the end sheet 2 is cut by concurrent actuation of shears 7a, 7b after stopping the coil so that a cutting position X1 is located on the cutting center of the shears 7b. After cutting, the rear end of a product part 1a is passed into a connector and is clamped; an outlet side table of the shears 7b is moved up and is stopped after passing the end sheet 2 in the passing direction Z. The former half 2a of the end sheet 2 is dropped by its own weight into a scrap car and remaining long end sheet is cut by the shears 7a to divide into an end sheet 2b of required discarding length and a fish tail part 2c. Then, pinch rolls are actuated to send the end sheet 2b in the Z direction shown by the arrow and to drop the end sheet 2b into a scrap car and the inlet side table of the shears 7a is moved down to drop the fish tail 2c into a scrap car.
