PURPOSE:To always facilitate the calibration of an oscillated frequency by providing two atomic beam generating furnaces arranged oppositely and reversing the traveling direction of an atomic beam as required for the calibration of the oscillated frequency. CONSTITUTION:An atomic beam generating furnace 1a is provided to the left side of a cavity resonator 3 and an atomic beam generating furnace 1b is provided to the right side to supply the atomic beam traveling in opposite direction to the cavity resonator 3. In measuring the oscillated frequency nua, the atomic beam generating furnaces 1a, 1b are acted to close a shutter 21a and to open a shutter 21b. Moreover, a switch 27 is switched to the position of a photodetector 26a. In measuring the oscillating frequency nub, the shutter 21a is opened and the shutter 21b is closed, then the Ramsay resonance is excited by the atomic beam Bb. The oscillating frequency nub of the VCO 10 is subjected to feedback control to maximize the resonance intensity I in this case.
