PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a coin and a telephone card even when a calling is made from a public telephone set by using a magnetic card to record the telephone number and the personal identification number of a local dial and making a telephone call from the public telephone set. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic card 1 is inserted into a public telephone set, the telephone number and the first personal identification number of a local dial recorded into a magnetic card 1 are read and stored once into a memory part 4. Next, when a second personal identification number is inputted from a push-button dial 5, it is judged whether or not the first personal identification number read from the magnetic card 1 is coincident. When the personal identification number is coincident, the local dial in the telephone station equivalent to the telephone number recorded to the magnetic card 1 and a telephone call charge adding circuit 8 are connected. Thus, when the telephone call is made from the public telephone set to anywhere, it is not necessary to pay for the telephone call charge during the telephone and the telephone call can be made from anywhere to anywhere with one magnetic card.
