PRODUCTION OF POWDER ESSENCE AGENT OF CHINESE HERBAL REMEDY

PURPOSE:To collect a low-boiling essence component volatile in an extracting and drying processes by a sure and simple means, to reduce man-hour and to obtain the titled essence agent, by treating Chinese herbal remedy by a specific plant operation. CONSTITUTION:A crude drug or a Chinese herbal remedy, prescribed crude drug (e.g. powdered Cinnamon bark, Zingiberis rhizoma, Japanese angelica root, Cnidium, etc.) is extracted with a solvent for a given temperature (30-100 deg.C and 80-100 deg.C for 30-120min in the case of using water as a solvent) for a given period (0.5-150hr, generally 3-48hr) under heating. In the heating extraction process, only initial distillate at least from a reaching period of a given temperature to a period after 1/10-1/3 the whole extraction hours elapsed is collected with an adsorbent. A solvent is distilled away form the extracted solution to give powder essence of Chinese herbal remedy, which is blended with a collected substance of the initial distillate with an adsorbent to give powder essence agent of Chinese herbal remedy. A method wherein a condenser is connected to an extraction pot, a volatile component is liquefied in the condenser and the condensed solution is adsorbed on an adsorbent set right under the condenser, etc., may be cited as the collecting method.
