HYDROGEN FRAGILITY PREVENTING DEVICE IN HEAT EXCHANGER

PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of hydrogen and a hydrogen fragility of titanium by a method wherein a zinc electrode within a heat exchanger and a titanium part are connected by a potential difference meter and a sacrificial anode in a water guiding pipe and the water guide pipe are controlled through an electric current adjustor. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of sacrificial aluminum anodes 9 mounted with in an inner surface of a water guide pipe 6 are electrically connected to a water guide pipe 6 through a variable resistor 13 by a connecting line 11. A zinc electrode 10 mounted within a water chamber 5 is electrically connected to a titanium pipe plate 4 through potential difference meter 12 by a connecting line 14. An output signal of the potential difference meter 12 is inputted to a control device 15 for use in controlling a variable resistor 13. Since the poten tial difference meter 12 has a high resistance, thereby no electrical current is flowed in the connecting line 14 and the titanium in the heat exchanger shows a potential more than -0.75V and the hydrogen fragility can be prevented.
