CONSTITUTION:The movable barrier 3 bringing the monomolecular film of the substance on the surface of a liquid to set surface pressure and the auxiliary movable barriers 6, 6a integrally provided along with the movable barrier 3 between the monomolecular film and inner walls 4, 4a are moved in definite relative relation to obtain the set surface pressure. At this time, the width of a substrate is made equal to the length of the movable barrier 3 and the width between the auxiliary movable barriers 6, 6a to prevent the monomolecular film from creeping from the end of the substrate 8.
