OPERATION METHOD FOR HYDROGEN ISOTOPE SEPARATE CONCENTRATION THERMAL DIFFUSION

PURPOSE:To operate without disturbing gas composition distribution in a column by adjusting the discharging volume of deteriorated gas from the column top section and the discharging volume of concentrated gas from the column bottom section for discharging hydrogen isotope gas by means of the pressure in the column. CONSTITUTION:In case tritium containing volume in a column 4 is very small, and it is evaluated by analysis beforehand that the same will not affect working environment and surrounding environment even if evacuated in a vacuum exhaust system, an electric source in a column 1 is turned off to stop heating and cooling. Then, after gas is sufficiently mixed in the column 1 and uniformized, tritium gas of a replenishing amount of tritium in the feeding gas is recovered from the column 1 into a recovery device 5 while being monitored by a pressure indicator 7. When hydrogen gas is contained in the recovered gas, hydrogen of a replenishing amount of hydrogen in the feeding gas is vacuum evacuated from the column 4 while being monitored by a pressure indicator 8.
