PURPOSE:To reduce density difference in sintering and structure difference in each treatment by bringing the other thermocouple than the thermocouple for controlling sintering temp., into contact with a material to be sintered, detecting the development of liquid phase in the material to be sintered from variation of temp. measuring indication and stopping rise of the temp. CONSTITUTION:Temp. control in the sintering furnace is executed based on the temp. by the thermocouple for controlling the furnace temp. and the other thermocouple is directly brought into contact with the material to be sintered. When the temp. of the material to be sintered rises at the sintering operation, the indicating temp. of the thermocouple directly brought into contact with the material is varied. From this variation, the development of the liquid phase in the material to be sintered is detected. In accordance with the detection, immediately the rise of temp. in the furnace is stopped, and the temp. is kept, to continue the sintering for the prescribed time. By this method, the variance of the sintered density and the structure at each sintering treatment are reduced.
