PURPOSE:To quickly and efficiently vent smoke, odor, etc. at the time of cooking by generating an upward air stream in a space between the cooking appliance and the hood to direct the smoke, odor, etc. to the hood by said air stream. CONSTITUTION:An air stream generator 4 is disposed in a space between a gas stove 1 and a hood 3. Said air stream generator 4 consists of the juncture of an air delivery pipe 41 which is formed in an annular shape to encircle the gas stove 1 when viewed from top and a fan 42 as an air delivery means which delivers air into the air delivery pipe 41. When the fan 42 is operated at the time of cooking with the gas stove 1, a tornedo phenomenon generated by the air stream from nozzles 41a traps smoke, odor, etc. generated by the gas stove 1 as soon as they are generated, and the tornedo stream spirally rises into the hood 3. This way, smoke and others are taken into hood 3 and vented as soon as they are generated.
