PURPOSE:To magnify an electric energy accumulated in the oscillation circuit of the secondary side of a transformer and facilitate generating a high voltage pulse with a small capacity switching device by a method wherein switching of a switch provided in the primary winding circuit of the transformer is repeated a plurality of times synchronized with the electric oscillation of the oscillation circuit. CONSTITUTION:When 1st transistor 3A is turned ON by a driving signal from a control circuit 106, a current Isl is applied to a primary winding 1 by a DC source 4 and a voltage is induced in a secondary winding 2 and a current Icl is created. A capacitor 8 is connected to the secondary winding 2 to form a LC resonance circuit 9. When the inversion of the current Ic1 of the LC resonance circuit 9 is detected by a detection winding 7 and the 1st transistor 3A is turned OFF and 2nd transistor 3B is turned ON by the control circuit 106, a current Is2 is applied to the primary winding 1. The polarity of a voltage induced in the secondary winding 2 by the current Is2 is opposite to the polarity of the voltage induced by the current Is1. Therefore, every time when the current Ic1 is inverted, its amplitude is magnified. Thus, by turning the 1st and 2nd transistors 3A and 3B ON and OFF synchronized with the oscillation period of the LC resonance circuit 9, an electric energy can be injected into the LC resonance circuit 9.
