PURPOSE:To manufacture a conductor of conductive Al alloy having superior heat resistance and flexibility without deteriorating electric conductivity and tensile strength, by subjecting a molten Al alloy containing specific small amounts of Zr, Si, Cu, and Be to continuous casting and then applying hot rolling and cold wire drawing to the resulting billet under specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:A molten Al alloy containing, by weight, 0.15-0.5% Zr, 0.05-0.3% Si, 0.05-0.5% Cu, and 0.005-0.3% Be is subjected to continuous casting, which is cooled and solidified into a rod billet at =10 deg.C/sec cooling rate. By cooling this billet at =60 deg.C/min cooling rate, rolling is started at =550 deg.C to carry out reduction of area at =40% draft and then rolling is stopped at =350 deg.C. Subsequently, the resulting rough drawing wire is heat-treated at 200-450 deg.C for 5-100hr so as to precipitate Zr finely and uniformly, and the conductor made of Al alloy is manufactured at =60% draft.
