PURPOSE:To prevent a Brewster window from being contaminated and to prevent the optical axis of an output laser beam from deviating from the central axis of a laser tube by a method wherein the Brewster window consisting of two parallel glass plates is installed to be V-shaped inside a metal tube for the cathode electrode. CONSTITUTION:A metal tube 4 made of Kovar, etc. for a laser tube functions as the anode electrode, while a metal tube 5 made of Kovar, etc. functions as the cathode electrode. Mirrors 6, 7 are equipped with a cathode lead-wire 10 by which a glass tablet 8 for keeping the vacuum airtightness of the metal tubes 4, 5 is connected electrically with a cathode 2 and with the metal tube 5 for the cathode electrode, and a Brewster window 20 is installed to be V-shaped by using two parallel glass plates so that the window can form Brewster angle. In the case of a gas laser tube, after a laser beam has been refracted twice by Brewster window which is composed of two parallel glass plates to be formed in a V-shape, the deviation of the optical axis of the laser beam can be restored.
