PARALLEL PROCESSING SYSTEM FOR PLURAL SORTS

PURPOSE:To eliminate the storing and extracting actions of extra records and also to improve the responsiveness by executing plural types of sorts independently of each other and in parallel. CONSTITUTION:A sort application means 3 delivers the records to be sorted to a sort processing means 1 together with the information which designate the sort processing the store means 4-6 in response to the types of said sorting processes. A sort input entrance processing part 12 of the means 1 uses those designated means 4-6 to perform the sorting processes. As a result, the different sorting processes are carried out independently and in parallel with each other by means of different means 4-6. When the end is informed from the means 3 for the records to be sorted in response to designation of means 4-6, a sort input end entrance processing part 13 of the means 1 uses the designated means 4-6 to complete the sorting processes. Then a sort output entrance processing part 14 of the means 1 reads the sorted records stored in the means 4-6 and delivers them to the means 3.
