MOLTEN STEEL TREATING AGENT FOR INCLUSION ABSORPTION/ FLOATATION AND MOLTEN STEEL TREATING METHOD AND DEVICE THEREFOR

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled molten steel treating agent rapidly and economically reducing inclusion in the molten steel by composing of CaO and CaF2 as main composition and the remaining part of inevitable impurities and specifying CaF2 concentration in the above main composition. CONSTITUTION:The above molten steel treating agent is composed of CaO and CaF2 as the main composition and 1-5wt% CaF2 concentration in the main composition. By adding the above treating agent into the molten steel, the inclusion existing in the molten steel is absorbed in the treating agent extremely effectively. In general, most of Al2O3 inclusion in the molten steel is difficult to float as cluster state because of high melting point and exists as non-globularizing state in the static molten steel. However, at the time of absorbing the Al2O3 inclusion into the treating agent by action of this agent, the inclusion is made to molten state and changed to the inclusion, which is observed as globularizing state in the static molten steel and easily removed as floating up. Further, this treating agent effectively acts to the removal of other inclusions except Al2O3 kind in the molten steel, too.
