METHOD FOR RECOGNIZING RELATIVE POSITION OF GRAPHIC PATTERN

PURPOSE:To facilitate the rearrangement or new input of a graphic pattern by using an area including the graphic pattern as a frame, segmenting the frame into plural small areas (tiles) consisting of four sides and recognizing positional relation in the graphic pattern based on mutual positional relation among the frame and tiles. CONSTITUTION:A frame table 40 and a tile table 50 are composed and a frame generated for an input formula is obtained by combining these tables 40, 50. An upper frame F0 is related to a low frame F1 through a lower hierarchical frame pointer Pf0 and the frames F1, F2 having the same potential are mutually related through the same hierarchical frame pointer Pf1. The upper frame F0 is related to a tile T0 formed between the lower frames F1, F2 through a frame contituting tile pointer Pft.
