PURPOSE:To measure rapidly and easily the activity of the titled enzyme in a sample, by measuring the change in electric current in a specific enzumic electrode caused by the hydrolysis of a substrate consisting of glucose-6-phosphate using the specific enzymic electrode. CONSTITUTION:A membrane 2 containing immobilized glucose oxidase is fixed on the surface of an oxygen electrode or hydrogen peroxide electrode 1 to form an enzymic electrode, which is then placed in a container 9. A buffer solution 3 containing a substrate consisting of glucose-6-phosphate is then injected into the container 9. A given amount of a sample containing an acidic and alkaline phosphatase is then added to the solution 3. Glucose formed by the hydrolysis of the substrate is then diffused in the membrane 2 containing the immobilized glucose oxidase and oxidized to cause a change in electric current in the enzymic electrode 1. The change in electric current is measured on a recorder 7 to determined the activity of the acidic and alkaline phosphatase in the sample.
