The power current limiter for an electronically switched, direct current electric motor of which the stator comprises a plurality of angularly offset windings which are successively supplied by electronic switching means in order to create a rotating field, is arranged, in order to set a current limitation as a function of a motor operation parameter, according to a law (g) which takes into account the variation (7) of the load driven by the motor as a function of said parameter and which authorizes only a current slightly higher than the current required in normal operating conditions.
