PURPOSE:To fix the holding position of the fruit stem with the holder of a fruit stem holding apparatus, by pressing the fruit to the upper surface of a fruit- supporting part. CONSTITUTION:A transfer plate 20 is laid across a pair of chains 11, and a cushioning material 21 is bonded to the upper surface of the plate 20 to form a fruit-supporting part. The stem (b) of the fruits (B) is protruded through the hole 22 of the supporting part, and the fruit (B) transferred by the plate 20 is pressed with the pressing member 5 placed above the transfer device toward the upper surface of the fruit-supporting part. Synchronizedly with the above motion, the lagged chain 30 placed under the moving orbit of the center of the hole 22 is driven with the chain guide 39, and the rollers 38 attached to a pair of clamping levers 36 are lifted by the bulged parts 39b of the restricting surface 39a of the guide 39. The clamping levers are rotated toward the direction of the arrows shown in the solid line against the force of the spring 37, and the clamping pieces 35 attached to the top of the clamping levers 36 are closed to clamp the stem (b). The fruit (B) is pulled downward and transferred by this mechanism.
