The method for sorting objects according to size comprises supplying them to a sepg. element with calibrated openings, producing relative reciprocation between the objects and the element causing the smaller objects to pass through the openings, and removing the larger and the smaller objects from opposite sides of the element. The objects are received in a carrier liq. which is then caused to pass to and fro through the openings. The mechanism used pref. comprises a holder which has at least one element as bottom and is vertically reciprocated in a liq.-filled container.
