Sky light operating mechanism, e.g. for large hot hose, in which plants are grown, includes a guide track and operating rod system. Storage shed or hot house frame, has column (7) for supporting joists (8) and roof section (9) in which several windows are fitted. Coupling rod (12) is hinge coupled to the windows at one end, and at the other end via hinge pin (13) to hinge pin (15). Coupling rod end (14) is via hinge pin (13) coupled to a push/pull operating rod (16) which is slidable to and fro in direction of arrow A. Guide rollers (17,18) run in L-shaped guide-track (19).
