The chamber is fitted in the bee-hive, and its rear part (4) is open, covering the hive opening completely. The front part of the chamber has passages (9,10) through which the bees prepare to enter or leave the chamber and therefore the hive. The passages are formed so that only one bee at a time can use them. A signalling device records the passage of each bee ineither direction, the output signals being transmitted for processing to a computer. USE - To record the number of bees leaving and returning to a hive.(1)
