ABSTRACTA process for preparing an acrylic rubber blendcomprising a copolymer consisting of as a first copolymerethylacrylate/acrylic acid, ethylacrylate/methacaylic acid,butylacrylate/acrylic acid, butylacrylate/methacrylic acid,ethylacrylate/butylacrylate/acrylic acid or ethylacrylate/butylacrylate/methacrylic acid, and as a second copolymerstyrene/acrylonitrile. The process comprising: mixing thefirst and second copolymers at a temperature between theglass transition temperature of the second copolymer and220°C and in the presence of (i) from 0.5 to 2 weightpercent, dased on the weight of the first and secondcopolymers, of zinc chloride, cadmium chloride, ferricchloride, aluminum chloride or boron trifluoride, and (ii)an epoxy cross-linking agent. The blends prepared by thisprocess have improved impact-resistance.
