Abstract of the DisclosureA continuous process for forming aluminum-lithiumalloys is disclosed which comprises continuously monitoring theingot casting rate and continuously adding a measured andcontrolled amount of molten lithium beneath the surface of amolten aluminum stream as it flows toward an ingot castingstation. The amount of molten lithium to be added is based onthe ingot casting rate, the ingot size and the lithium contentof the alloy being cast.
