14ABSTRACT:In a colour cathode ray tube having an in-lineelectron gun with overlapping CFF lenses, the small open-ings of the focusing electrode apertures are criticallyenlarged to balance the asymmetry of the lensing fieldcaused by the overlap, and beam spot distortion due tofield asymmetries in the focus region is eliminated.Enlargement is achieved by elongating the openings in adirection normal to the in-line plane, and widening theouter openings.
