AbstractA high, self-supporting smokestack or tower having astructure constructed by stacking precast reinforced con-crete sections one upon the other, the cross-sectionalarea of the structure being larger at the bottom than atthe top and concentrated reinforcement being provided alongthe length of the structure to bear the horizontal forces actingupon the smokestack or tower. The structure exhibits ribsprovided with concentrated reinforcement and extendinglongitudinally on the outside of the structure at leastalong its lower portion, the radial extent of these ribsincreasing from the top to the bottom at least so as tocorrespond essentially to the bending moment progressionresulting from the horizontal stress. A mould device forproducing precast reinforced concrete parts for such smoke-stacks or towers, in which mould sections are providedwhich are radially adjustable for fashioning the front sur-faces of the ribs.
