Novel light-weight bait granules which contain - as a carrier material, a granular glass or rock foam which has been shaped into spheres during an expansion process under pressure, - at least one active substance from amongst the carbamates and/or phosphates which is suitable for controlling soil-dwelling pests, - edible substance, - binder and - if appropriate additives, a process for the preparation of these baits, and their use in the control of soil-dwelling pests.
