USE OF WIND AND/OR SOLAR ENERGY FOR CLEANING SURFACES OR KEEPING SAME CLEAN, FOR EXAMPLE WINDOWS OR SOLAR ENERGY COLLECTOR SURFACES

The available wind and/or solar energy near a vertical surface or a surface provided with a vertical element exposed to soiling by the external environment or atmosphere are used to clean or to keep cleans same, in particular window panes, especially of sky-scrapers, and solar energy collector surfaces. The surfaces are cleaned by at least one spraying nozzle (9) secured to the upper edge of the surface and directed against the surface. The spraying nozzle (9) is connected by a pipe (8, 9) to an electric pump (5) that pumps cleaning fluid from a container (6) into the pipe (8, 9) and onto the surface, via the spraying nozzle. The energy necessary to drive the pump can be supplied by a battery (4) charged by at least one generator (4) driven by a wind wheel (2). The battery (4) can also be charged, exclusively or additionally, by a solar charger. Current may also be supplied, in particular in the case of sky-scrapers, by one or several wind power engines installed on the roof of the sky-scraper and composed of a funnel-shaped wind guiding means, of a shaft arranged along the axis of the wind guiding means and having at least one preferably curved propeller blade exposed to the open air near the outlet of the wind guiding means, the unit of wind guiding means and propeller shaft being capable of automatically rotating in the direction of the wind.
