In the warp knit fabric, the warp stitch columns (21, 22) which have an identical position are connected to one another by weft threads (61, 62). In the rows of stitches, the stitches (82) of each second column of warp stitches (22) are off-set by a fraction of a stitch in relation to the stitches (81) of each first column of warp stitches (21). In this way a warp knit fabric is obtained which is particularly dense and fine.
