Process for copying mechanical models in real time and making it possible to avoid the overshoot which usually occurs with copy milling machines. According to the invention, a mechanical box (3) is arranged, on a machine-tool equipped with a feeling finger (4), between the feeling finger and its support (2). This box permits motorised and measurable displacement of the feeling finger with respect to the tool (1). A computer (C1) programs directly the movement of the feeling finger by controlling the motors of the feeling-finger-carrying box. A memory (C2) employs the abovementioned coordinates to define the movement of the tool, by acting on the motors of shafts of the machine. The feeling finger and tool can move simultaneously, but the movement of the feeling finger anticipates that of the tool. IMAGE
