A process for the preparation of polyurethane adhesives for packing by preparing a prepolymer starting from a diisocyanate of general formula:wherein R is an aromatic radical containing from 1 to 13 carbon atoms and from a glycol or glycols having an average molecular weight of up to 2000, and thereafter reacting the prepolymers with a N-substituted dialkanolamine of general formula:wherein R' is an alkyl, aromatic or alkylaromatic radical containing from 1 to 12 carbon atoms and p is an integer from 1 to 4.
