clamping head (10) for the application of threaded caps on threaded containers, equipped with a clutch (44) with hysteresis. the gripping head (10) includes a housing (16) adapted to be secured to a drive shaft (12) and a hollow rotary shaft (36) mounted in the housing and adapted to freely rotate therewith. the gripping head (10) further comprises a clutch (44) with hysteresis with a pair of rings (46, 48) with permanent magnetization, attached to the housing (16) and a magnetic material disc (50) with hysteresis fixed to the hollow shaft (36) and sandwiched between the pair of ring permanent magnetization. The clutch (44) can perform a shift after the application of the screw cap onto a threaded vessel when a predetermined torque value is reached, and can eliminate torque reversal characteristic inherent to synchronous clutches.
