Feed element based on components derived from red blood corpuscles for feeding unweaned young livestock, especially calves

Basic food element for animal feed, particularly for unweaned young livestock, consisting essentially in a composition of proteins originating from red blood corpuscles of animal origin, this composition being essentially lacking in plasma proteins, being solubilisable and having an acid content, particularly a lactic acid content, giving the solutions which can be obtained a pH of less than 5.00. The invention also relates to animal feed compositions based on the above feed element and having organoleptic and nutritional properties equivalent or even superior to those of traditional skimmed-milk-based pre-weaning feed.
