This tennis string (1) comprises a coated elastic core made from untwisted or twisted plastic fibres (2). In order to achieve an improved combination of the desired properties, i.e. elasticity, high ball acceleration, tear strength and playing comfort when used as tennis racquet stringing, with weathering resistance and long life, the core fibres (2) comprise aramid "KEVLAR" (R).
