PROCESS AND DEVICE FOR THE TRANSMISSION, IN A RELIABLE MANNER AS REGARDS SIGNALLING TECHNIQUES, OF SERIAL DATA BETWEEN RELIABLE COMPUTERS OPERATING PREFERABLY ON TWO CHANNELS BY MEANS OF A TWIN-LOOP BUS SYSTEM
In normal operation, the two loop buses are traversed by the data in the opposite direction, in parallel and in a redundant manner, one channel of each computer being respectively assigned to a bus by means of an activated bus coupler. In the event of an incident, the buses are interrupted cyclically in sections in order to locate faults, and cross connections are established with the respective other bus. After localization of the fault, the adjacent sections are transferred continuously in a single loop structure without redundancy with separation of the faulty section. At the same time, an active control station with a two-channel pilot computer is provided for controlling the two buses, which hierarchically manages the access rights to the bus for other bus participants with their own computer, and compares crosswise. , by means of corresponding control functions, the data circulating in one bus respectively with the transmission data of the other bus and vice versa. The mismatch reveals an incident which causes a switch to test mode operation, in which the control station cyclically calls the sub-stations, activated bus couplers grouped respectively in pairs in bus control units gradually establish cuts and cross-connections until a mismatch of transmitted data and received data inside the control station signals the location of the fault, causing a switch to mode operation '' BREAKDOWN''.
