Use of vitamin E and combinations of vitamin E with anti-inflammatory agents and analgesics in the treatment of rheumatic diseases

The invention consists in the discovery of the suitability of vitamin E for the treatment of rheumatic diseases. In several clinical studies, an inhibition of inflammation, decrease in swelling and reduction of the pain without occurrence of side effects was observed in patients with rheumatic disorders of different genesis after therapy with vitamin E. Moreover, it was possible to restrict the additional need of analytical/antiinflammatories. In the indication claimed, vitamin E and vitamin E combinations can be administered in an oval solid or liquid administration form and also parenterally and topically and, in the dosage of vitamin E, should not fall below 300 I.U. or exceed 1500 I.U.
