Mechanically sorting mixt. of dry cells - using size sieves followed by shape-sorting slide and content-sorting weighing device

The method mechanically separates a mixture of dry batteries according to shape and content by first breaking down into fractions of identical size. The equal-sized batteries are then sorted on the basis of their weight and content. A sequence of filters is used to classify the batteries according to size. Chicane structures are used to grade the size-sorted batteries according to shape. The chicanes lie along a slide and are matched to battery diameter. A deflector coupled to a weighing machine is used for weight sorting. Alternatively, a jet of gas is used.
